Our office is located at 35/14 Hacker Jesen St, right in the heart of Chennai 1. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s old, narrow, and incredibly busy. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because of the handcarts and the crowds. We deal with marine logistics, so being near the port area makes sense. The building we’re in is quite old, with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze. We have maps of the coastline and shipping schedules pinned up everywhere. The air is salty and usually quite humid. We don't have a lot of space, so we’ve made the most of every corner with shelves and filing cabinets. It’s loud outside with all the trade going on, but we’ve gotten used to the noise. We have a small crew that’s been together for years. We usually eat lunch together at our desks. It’s not a place for fancy presentations. We just talk about cargo, ships, and weather. It’s honest, gritty work. 35/14 Hacker Jesen St isn’t easy to find if you aren't looking for it, but it’s where we’ve been based for a long time. The street is always full of life, and there’s a sense of history in these old Chennai buildings that you don't get in the newer parts of town.
