Sri Thamburan Chit Funds Private Limited is tucked away in Adambakkam. Our address is NO.33B, Karikalan Street, specifically the 1st East Street. If you’ve ever been to Chennai, you know how these residential streets can be. It’s mostly quiet except for the occasional vegetable seller walking by or the kids playing after school. We have a small office here where we handle all the chit fund work. It’s a ground floor spot, so it is easy for the older folks in the neighborhood to just walk in and have a seat. We don't have a big reception desk or fancy lighting. There’s a calendar on the wall and a few plastic chairs for when people come to settle their accounts. Adambakkam has changed a lot over the years, but Karikalan Street still feels like a proper neighborhood. Most of our members are local residents who have been with us for a long time. We spend a lot of time checking the ledgers and making sure every entry is correct. It is steady work. Sometimes the humidity in Chennai gets to us, so the ceiling fan is always on high speed. We usually keep some water for anyone who drops by to pay. It is just a regular place doing regular work for people who need a way to save up. There isn't much more to it than that, just keeping the books balanced every single month for everyone involved.
