Down here on Swamy Naicken Street, things are always moving. Chinthadripet is a busy part of Chennai, and our No. 169/2 address is right in the middle of all that noise. It is an old building, nothing fancy, but it does the job for us. We handle a lot of ceramic tiles and supplies. The air smells like dust and the sea sometimes, depending on which way the wind is blowing. We have stacks of boxes piled up and it is always a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles. Most of the time, I am just sitting here checking the inventory or talking to the guys who bring the loads in. The heat in Chennai can be brutal, so we have a couple of old fans that make a lot of noise but don't do much. It is a local business, through and through. We know the other shop owners on the street and we usually get our lunch from the small place around the corner. We don't have a website that looks like a movie or any of that. It is just us in a dusty office trying to get the right tiles to the right people. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days it is chaos with trucks blocking the narrow street. We have been at this for a while and don't plan on changing how we do things much. It is just how life is in this part of Chennai.
