Smart Designers

We’ve been here at Plot No 2 on Lakshmi Ammal Street for a while now. If you know Ayyavoo Colony in Aminjikarai, you know it can get a bit busy during the morning rush. Our office isn’t anything fancy, just a practical space where we sit down and get the design work done. Smart Designers is basically a few of us trying to figure out how to make things look right on paper before the actual work starts. Some days it’s quiet, other days the phone won't stop ringing. We usually have a lot of blueprints spread across the desks and coffee cups everywhere. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s how we work. Being in Chennai, the heat is always something we deal with, so the fan is always on high speed. We’ve seen the street change over the years. People walk by, neighbors stop to say hello. It’s a local spot. We don't really do the big corporate talk. We just listen to what you need and see if we can draw it up. It’s simple enough. Lakshmi Ammal Street has a certain feel to it, especially when it rains. We just keep our heads down and focus on the lines and measurements. It’s what we know how to do here in Aminjikarai. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a regular day at the office for us most of the time.
