You can find S.K. Auto Parts at No: 96 on Thiruvalluvar Street. We are in Jagatambigai Nagar, which is part of the Padi area. Padi is famous for its big factories and all the automotive work that happens around here. Our shop is a bit smaller than the giants down the road, but we stay busy. We have shelves full of different parts for all sorts of vehicles. Most of our day is spent looking through catalogs or climbing up ladders to find the right part for someone. It’s a lot of walking back and forth on the concrete floor. Thiruvalluvar Street can get pretty jammed up with bikes and trucks, so it’s always a bit noisy. We don't have a team of salesmen or anything. It’s just us behind the counter helping people who come in with a broken part in their hand. We’ve been here long enough that we can usually tell what someone needs before they even finish explaining it. We don't do anything fancy, just sell parts and talk shop with the mechanics who stop by. Sometimes we have a tea and talk about the weather or the traffic. It’s a simple business and we like the routine of it. We keep the shop open late most days because that’s when people need us most for their repairs.
