Site Engineer

I am based out of Room Number 120 in A.S. Mansion. It is tucked away on Abibullah Street over in Triplicane. If you know Chennai, you know how busy Triplicane gets with all the people and the narrow streets. I work as a site engineer, which keeps me on my feet all day. A.S. Mansion is an older building, but it works for what I need. I spend a lot of time looking at drawings and then going out to see how things are actually being built. It is a lot of back and forth. Abibullah Street has its own rhythm, and I have gotten used to the noise outside my window while I am trying to focus on site plans. Being a site engineer is not a glamorous job. It is mostly about making sure the details match the reality on the ground. I do not have a big team or a fancy lobby. It is just a room where I can sit down and think. Sometimes it is hard to find the building if you are not looking closely, but I have been here long enough that the neighbors know me. Chennai weather can be tough when you are out on a project, so coming back to the office at the mansion is a relief. I do not use a lot of fancy words to describe what I do. I just show up and work.
