Our store is at 104 Greams Road, right in the Thousand Lights area near Anna Salai. It’s a very busy part of the city, and the traffic outside never seems to stop. We handle all kinds of tyres here. The shop is always filled with the smell of new rubber, which you get used to after a while. We spend the day lifting heavy wheels and talking to drivers about their needs. It’s a physical job and we usually end up quite dirty by the end of our shift. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a working garage and a storage space. There are stacks of tyres everywhere you look, reaching up to the ceiling. We know Greams Road well because we’ve been here for a long time. People come to us because they know we have what they need in stock. We don't use any complicated sales tactics. We just show them what’s available and help them choose the right one. The guys working here are good at what they do and don't talk more than they have to. We have a small area where we keep the invoices and take payments from customers. It’s a bit cramped, but it works for our needs. The heat in Chennai can be tough, especially when you’re working with rubber all day long. We just drink plenty of water and keep moving.
