If you head down Vasantha Nagar Main Road in the Singanallur area of Coimbatore, you’ll find our workshop. We go by The Sun Cranes Amp Hoists, and we’ve been dealing with heavy machinery for quite some time now. Our place is full of metal parts, chains, and the smell of grease and iron. It’s not the cleanest environment, but that’s what happens when you work with cranes and hoists all day. We spend most of our time fixing things or putting together units for local factories. The sounds of welding and grinding are pretty much the soundtrack to our lives here. We started small, just a couple of us who knew how to handle heavy lifting gear, and we’ve just stayed in this same spot. Singanallur is a good area for this kind of work because there are plenty of other industrial shops around. Sometimes the yard gets a bit cluttered with old parts we haven’t scrapped yet, but we know where everything is. It’s a hands-on job. We get our clothes dirty every single day. We don't have a fancy showroom; if you want to see what we do, you just walk into the shed where the work is happening. It’s straightforward, honest labor. We don't use big words to describe what we do; we just fix the machines so they can lift what they need to. Our neighbors are mostly other workshops, so we fit right in with the noise and the constant movement of trucks coming and going all day long.
