Our spot is M-74 in the TNHB area of Arakkonam. If you know Tamil Nadu, you know it gets pretty warm around here, especially in the afternoons. The office is right in the middle of the residential colony, which makes it feel more like a neighborhood place than a big corporate building. We do building work, so there are usually blueprints or site maps rolled up in the corners of the room. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but most of our local contacts know the way to M-74 by now. We spend most of the day coordinating with workers out at different sites and making sure we have enough sand and bricks. The ceiling fan stays on pretty much all day long to keep the air moving. It’s not a quiet office; there is always someone coming in to discuss a plan or a bill. We use a lot of local labor, and people often stop by just to check on upcoming work. It’s a simple setup with a couple of tables and some plastic chairs for guests. We try to keep things organized, but when three different projects are going on, it gets a little messy with all the receipts. That’s just the reality of construction in a place like this. We’ve been based here in Arakkonam for some time now, just doing our daily tasks and seeing buildings go up.
