We are based in Virugambakkam at old number 95A, which is now new number 250 on Arcot Road. If you know Chennai, you know how busy Arcot Road can get with all the buses and cars. Our office is right in the middle of that. We run a chit fund, and we’ve been at this same spot for a long time. The office is a bit crowded because we have so many files and old records kept in the back. We have a few desks for the staff and some plastic chairs for the members who come for the auctions. It’s not a polished corporate space. There is usually some noise from the street, and we often have the door open to let some air in. We spend our days counting cash, writing out receipts, and updating the ledgers. It’s a lot of manual work, but we prefer it that way. We know the faces of the people who come in every month. They are local shopkeepers or residents from nearby apartments. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just do our work and word gets around. It’s a very local, hands-on way of running things. We just try to stay organized and keep the groups running smoothly. It’s a full-time job and it keeps us on our toes.
