About Shree Ram Glass – Building & Construction Material in Chennai
Choolai is a busy place, especially around T K Mudali Street. At number 10, Shree Ram Glass has its shop right in the thick of it. It’s an old building in Venkateshapuram, and the street is quite narrow, so things can get a bit cramped when we are unloading crates of glass. Inside, the shop is full of glass sheets of all sizes leaning against the walls. The air usually smells like cutting oil and a bit of dust. It is not the cleanest place in the world, but glass work is like that. You can’t really keep the floor spotless when you are cutting and grinding edges all day. My hands have seen a lot of small cuts over the years, which is just part of the job. We have a big wooden table where all the measuring and cutting happens. It’s got deep grooves from the tools. We don’t have a fancy showroom with spotlights. People just walk in, tell us what they need, and we get to it. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a tool or just to chat for a minute. When the sun shines down the street in the late afternoon, it hits the glass in the shop and makes everything look very bright for an hour or so. We keep our records in a simple ledger, and we know our customers by their faces.
