Shree Granites

We are located over at 211 Kutchery Road in Mylapore. It is a busy part of the city, especially with the temple traffic and all the small shops nearby. Most of our day is spent moving heavy slabs of granite around the yard. It is loud work because of the machines and the trucks coming in to drop off new stock. We have different colors of stone leaning against the walls. Some are black, some are grey, and some have those little speckles that people seem to like for their kitchens. The dust is everywhere, so we are always wiping things down just so people can see the real color of the stone. My shirt is usually a bit dirty by lunch time. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just the space where we keep the materials. Sometimes the heat in Chennai makes it tough to work outside all day, but we manage. People stop their scooters outside and come in to ask about prices or to see if a certain piece is thick enough for what they need. We usually have a fan going in the small corner we use as an office. It’s simple work, really. Just measuring things out and helping load the pieces onto the back of small autos or trucks. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and know most of the people on this street. It gets pretty hectic when multiple deliveries arrive at once, but we just get through it.
