Shipping Assisttent

Down on Kammatchi Amman Street in Kanchipuram, you will find our little spot at 140A. It is a local street, not too far from everything else in town. We call ourselves Shipping Assisttent, and mostly we just help people get their things from one place to another. The office is small and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. We have a counter, some chairs for people to sit while they wait, and a back area where we keep our records. The street outside can get quite lively, especially during the festival seasons. You can hear the sounds of the town right through the front door. We spend a lot of our time explaining how the shipping process works to folks who haven't done it much before. It involves a lot of weighing items and filling out forms by hand. Sometimes we run out of ink or the internet is slow, and we just have to tell people to come back in ten minutes. We don’t mind the slow pace sometimes. It gives us a chance to talk to the neighbors. We’ve been here long enough that most people know where to find us if they need a hand with a parcel. It’s a honest way to spend the day, just helping out with the small details of moving goods around the region. We keep things simple and try to be helpful. The day goes by pretty fast when the shop is full of boxes.
