We’ve been here at L-20 in the Vsi Estate for quite some time now. Thiruvanmiyur is a busy spot, but inside our office, things are usually focused on the drawing boards. Most mornings start with the same routine, getting the systems running and checking over whatever plans were left out from the night before. There are about a dozen of us here, and the desks are almost always buried under rolls of tracing paper and old site photos. It isn't a fancy setup by any means. We have some sturdy chairs and plenty of lights because the work requires looking at tiny details for hours on end. Sometimes the tea man comes by, and we take a quick break to talk about anything other than floor plans. People stop by the office frequently, mostly contractors with mud on their boots or clients wanting to see how their sketches are turning out. We try to keep things organized, but when three different projects are moving at once, the files tend to pile up in corners. It is just the way we work. The estate can get a bit noisy with all the other businesses around, but we've gotten used to the hum. It feels right being in an industrial area where things actually get built. Most of the time, you’ll find us arguing over a measurement or trying to figure out why a particular wall isn't lining up. It’s just daily life here in Thiruvanmiyur for us.
