Shankar Netralaya

Shankar Netralaya is located at number 18 College Road in Nungambakkam. Being in a place like Chennai, we deal with the heat and the traffic every single day. College Road is always moving, and our clinic is right in the thick of it. We focus on eyes because that is what we know how to do. The building is an older one, so the rooms have high ceilings but the windows are small. We have those classic eye charts on the walls and the heavy machines for checking vision. The staff has been here for years, so we all know each other’s habits. We don't have a big corporate structure or a PR department. If someone has trouble seeing, they come to 18 College Road and we see what is going on. The waiting room has some old wooden chairs that have been polished smooth by years of people sitting on them. We get a lot of students from the nearby colleges and older folks from the residential parts of Nungambakkam. It gets a bit chaotic on Monday mornings, but we managed to get through it. We don't make big promises or use fancy words to describe what we do. It is just a place to get your eyes checked by people who have been doing it for a long time in the same neighborhood.
