Shahs Clinic

Shahs Clinic is tucked away at No.8A Villa Shabeel in Kapaleeswarar Nagar. Specifically, we are on 9th Cross Street in Neelankarai. It is a much quieter area than the main roads, which is nice for us and the people who come by. The clinic is basically part of the residential fabric here. You walk down the street and see the houses and the trees before you get to our gate. It’s a simple setup inside. We have a small waiting area that can get a bit cramped if three or four families show up at once. The walls are a plain color, and we have some old magazines on the table that nobody really reads anymore. Working in Neelankarai means we see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. We know which neighbors like to talk and which ones just want to get their business done and head home. The sea breeze sometimes reaches us, which is a nice break from the humidity. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy outside, just the name so people know they have the right house. It’s a peaceful way to run a clinic, away from the heavy traffic of the city. We keep our own hours and try to keep things organized, even if the desk gets a bit messy with paperwork by the end of the afternoon. It’s just a local place where we do our daily tasks and then lock up and head home like everyone else on the street.
