About Sergio Leathers Pvt. Ltd. – Fashion & Trends in Chennai
It’s another hot day here on Anna Salai. My desk is right near the front window of our place in Saidapet, so I see everyone walking by. We’ve been at 140 for quite some time now. Dealing with leather means there is always a certain smell in the air, a mix of the hides and the oils we use. It’s not a bad smell, just something you get used to after a week or two. We spend the mornings checking the stock that came in the night before. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. I usually have my tea around ten. The workshop in the back is where most of the heavy lifting happens. There are about six of us here most days, just moving things around and making sure the leather is stored right so it doesn't get ruined by the humidity. We don't have fancy furniture or anything. It's just wooden tables, big scissors, and piles of material. By the time the sun starts going down, the street noise gets even louder. We pack up the tools, lock the heavy doors, and head home. It is a simple routine, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we stay late if a big order needs to be sorted, but mostly we stick to the regular hours. It is hard work, and your hands get dirty, but it feels okay at the end of the day.
