Sekar Emporium

Sekar Emporium is located at No. 22 on Arcot Road in Kodambakkam. This part of Chennai is always bustling with activity, and our shop is right in the middle of it. We have been here for a good number of years, watching the traffic on Arcot Road get heavier and heavier. The shop itself is a bit of a mix of everything. We have shelves lined with various items, and things can get a little cramped when we have a lot of customers inside. It’s not a modern mall experience, but more of a traditional local shop. We know many of the people who walk by or stop in because they live right around the corner in Kodambakkam. The floor is old, and the lighting isn't the brightest, but it has a familiar feel to it. We spend our days arranging the stock and talking to people who come in looking for something specific. Sometimes we don't have what they want, and other times they find something they weren't even looking for. That’s just how it goes in an emporium. We keep things simple and don't try to overcomplicate the way we run the place. It’s a lot of standing on our feet and moving things around to make room for new stuff. We like being part of the neighborhood. It’s just our daily life, running the shop and seeing the world go by outside on Arcot Road, which never seems to sleep for long.
