Lakshman Garments

Lakshman Garments is located over at Number 68 in Lakshman Nagar. We are right on Sathyamoorthy Salai in the Kandanchavadi area. It’s a pretty decent spot, though the traffic on the main road can be a bit of a headache during the morning rush. The shop is basically part of the neighborhood where I grew up. We have racks of clothes that we’ve put together, mostly simple everyday wear. It’s not a boutique where things are spaced out perfectly; we try to fit as much as we can on the floor. My cousin helps me out with the sales, and we usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively. The floor is tile and easy to sweep because we get a lot of dust from the street. We have a small changing room in the back that we built ourselves out of some plywood and a curtain. It isn't much, but it does the job. Most of our neighbors stop by just to say hello even if they aren't buying anything. We know most of the people who walk past our door every day. It’s a slow and steady kind of life here. We open up around ten, once the worst of the heat has passed, and stay until late evening. It’s just a local garment shop trying to keep things going. We don't have anything fancy, just clothes that people can wear.
