Our office is located in the Sivasakthi Flats, right on East Street in Mylapore. Specifically, we are at 33/4. If you know Chennai, you know Mylapore is full of history and narrow roads. It is a lively place to be. Santia Impex Private Limited operates out of this residential-style building, which makes it feel a bit more like home than a cold office. Being near the Kesavaperumal temple area means there is always something going on outside, especially during festival times. We deal with various import and export tasks from these rooms. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many files and samples lying around. We have had to get creative with how we stack things. Usually, there is a hum of activity with the fans going and someone always on the landline. We do not have a big corporate sign out front, just a small one by the door. Most of our work is done through emails and phone calls anyway. The team is just a handful of people who have been together for years. We know the neighbors in the flats, and they know us. Sometimes the traffic on East Street makes it hard for couriers to reach us on time, but we manage. It is a very traditional neighborhood, and we like being part of it. We keep things basic and just focus on getting the shipments cleared. It is not glamorous, but it is our daily life here in the 600004 area.
