You can find Samy Tex at Shop No 106 inside the Singapore Complex. We are located on 2nd Street in T Nagar, which is always packed with people. It’s a small shop, number 24, but we make it work. The shelves are usually stacked high with rolls and fabrics. It gets a bit cramped when customers come in at the same time, but that’s T Nagar for you. We’ve been here for a good while now. The lighting in the complex isn't the best, so we added some extra bulbs to see the colors clearly. We spend our days measuring and cutting. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people walking by and seeing the shop. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it’s slow, just watching the crowd go past. The Singapore Complex has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of it. Dealing with textiles is what we know. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell what we have and try to be fair about it. Every day we straighten the stacks and sweep the floor. It's a simple life here on 2nd Street. We're just glad to have the shop running. There is always a lot of chatter from the other shopkeepers, which keeps things lively during the day.
