Shakthi Electro Devices Private Limited is over on Selvaranga Raja Street, which is just off Velachery Road. We’ve been at number four for quite some time. The street is usually pretty busy with people going to and from Velachery Road, so there is always something happening outside our door. We work with various electronic devices and components. It’s detailed work, so we have some good lights and magnifying glasses on our benches. The office itself is quite simple. We have some metal racks for the components and a few old chairs for when we need to sit down and figure out a problem. It’s not a high-tech looking lab like you see in movies; it’s more of a practical workshop with soldering irons and piles of circuit boards. We don't have a marketing team or anyone fancy like that. Most of our days are spent checking specs and making sure the devices are working like they should. Sometimes the humidity makes things a bit uncomfortable, but we have a couple of good fans going to keep the air moving. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to do our work and go home to our families at the end of the day. It’s a small, local operation and we’re happy to keep it that way. If the phone rings, we answer it, and if someone stops by, we talk to them. We’ve been here for years and we know the area well.
