Consultants usually have big offices, but I prefer staying flexible. My laptop is getting a bit slow, but it gets the job done. I spend hours looking at blueprints and checking regulations. It’s quiet work mostly. Sometimes my kids run through the room while I’m on a call. That’s just how it is. I don't see the point in pretending to be bigger than we are. If you send an email, I’ll see it. It might take me a day to get back to you if I’m busy with a project. There are no fancy brochures here. Just technical advice and calculations. People find me through word of mouth. It’s more honest that way. I handle the infrastructure side of things, making sure plans make sense. It’s a lot of staring at spreadsheets and old emails. Sometimes I think about getting a proper office, but then I look at the traffic and decide against it. My coffee mug is always half-full of cold tea by the afternoon. It’s just me and my files. I like the peace and quiet.
