S. T. V. Vadivel & Co.

S. T. V. Vadivel & Co. is tucked away on Sembudoss Street in the Parrys area. We are at Old No. 25, which is now New No. 53, so that can be a bit confusing for people who haven't visited us in a long time. Parrys is a very old and crowded part of the city, and our street is no different. It’s narrow and always filled with trucks and people moving goods around. Our office has been in this same spot for quite a long time. Inside, it’s got that old-fashioned feel with high ceilings and heavy wooden desks. We keep things pretty simple here. There’s a lot of noise from the street outside, horns honking and people shouting, but you get used to it after a few years. We spend our days mostly handling paperwork and talking to people who come in from the market. It’s a traditional setup, nothing like those modern offices you see in the newer parts of town. We don’t use much technology besides the basics. Most of our records are still kept in big ledgers because that’s the way we’ve always done it. It works for us. The air is often thick with the smell of the sea and the nearby markets. It’s a busy, gritty place to work, but it’s home for the business. We just keep doing our thing day after day, year after year, without making much of a fuss about it. We’re just local people doing our jobs and staying in our corner of the neighborhood.
