S R P Gears

S R P Gears is located at No 5 on Jani Basha Street in the Pudupakkam area of Royapettah. It’s a local neighborhood with a lot of character. Jani Basha Street is one of those places where everyone seems to know everyone else. We’ve been at No 5 for a long time now. We work with gears and mechanical parts, so there’s usually a bit of grease and oil around the place. It’s a hands-on kind of job. The workshop isn’t very big, but we have managed to fit all the machinery we need into the space. Royapettah is a busy part of Chennai, and it can get quite loud with the bikes and the people. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. We don't have a marketing department or anything. Our work comes from people knowing where we are and what we can do with gears. Sometimes someone will bring in a part that’s decades old, and we see what we can do with it. It’s a slow, steady kind of life here on Jani Basha Street. We open up early, clean the floor, and start on the orders. It’s honest work and we like being part of the local scene in Pudupakkam. The days go by fast when we are busy with a complicated set of gears.
