S. P. R. Surgical Equipment & Services

We are located at No. 45 on Patel Street. It’s in Kumaran Nagar, over in the Padi area. Our building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it works for what we do. We handle surgical tools and equipment, so things have to be kept in a certain way. It’s a lot of checking lists and making sure the boxes are sealed properly. We also do some servicing, so there are usually tools lying around on the workbenches. It isn't a silent place; there is always someone tapping on a machine or testing a piece of gear. Padi is a decent area for us because it’s not too far from the main roads. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just me and a few others who know the equipment. We spend a lot of time on the phone with hospitals or clinics. Sometimes the deliveries are delayed because of the rain, and we have to explain that to the doctors. It’s a practical job. We don’t use big words or pretend to be more than a local supplier. The floor is concrete and the lights are a bit dim in the corners, but we know where everything is kept. It's just a regular day of work for us here. We try to keep things moving so that the equipment gets where it is supposed to go on time.
