S. Kumar'S Fab

Our workshop is sitting in the Coramandal Town Industrial Estate in Ambattur. We occupy numbers 32 and 33. It’s an industrial area, so it’s dusty and noisy, and there is always some machine running nearby or a truck backing up. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time now. The work we do isn't very fancy, but it’s honest and it pays the bills. We spend the day looking at fabric and checking the machines. Some days things go smooth, and other days a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon getting it fixed. We don't have a receptionist or a polished waiting room for visitors. If you come by to see us, you’ll probably find us on the floor working or in the small office area. The roads around here aren't the best, especially when it rains and the puddles get deep, but we’ve gotten used to it. We aren't big on using fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just a fabrication business. We have a small team, and everyone knows their role without being told twice. We don't have long meetings to discuss things; we just talk while we work. It’s a simple setup. We value our space here because it gives us enough room to handle the bigger orders that come in. Lunch is usually a quick break before getting back to the noise. It’s just how things are done in this part of town and we don't mind the hard work.
