You can find us at No.26B, 5th Street in the Sidco Industrial Estate over in Pattravakkam. It’s one of those busy streets where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We’ve been here at R.Selvamani Surface Technics Pvt. Ltd. for quite a while now. The work we do involves a lot of surface treatments, which means things can get a bit messy with the chemicals and the washing. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean for long. We usually have the fans running full blast to keep the air moving, especially when it gets humid outside. The street outside is always cramped with delivery vans and workers on their breaks. We’ve got a small crew, and everyone knows their job. There’s no big management structure here; we just talk to each other and figure out what needs doing next. Sometimes the orders are small, just a few pieces, and other times we’re buried under a massive load of parts. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising. Most of the people who come to us have been doing business with us for years. They know we’re just at the end of the 5th street. We keep the gate open during the day so the breeze can come in. It’s a decent place to work, even if the floor is always a bit damp from the tanks. We just keep moving and getting the orders ready for the next day.
