If you know T Nagar, you know how busy it gets, especially around Panagal Park. We are located at No. 125-127 on North Usman Road, right near Lalitha Jewellery. It’s a hectic place to work, but we’ve been doing it for a long time. Our days are filled with the sound of silk rustling and the chatter of people looking for the right fabric. The store is usually packed, and there’s always a lot of folding to be done after a customer leaves. We have stacks and stacks of sarees and fabrics in every color you can think of. It’s a bit of a maze inside, and sometimes even we have trouble finding a specific pattern. The air smells like new cloth and incense. We don't use a lot of fancy sales talk; we just show what we have and let people decide. Our staff has been here for years, and they know the stock better than anyone. Lunch breaks are usually taken in shifts because the floor never really gets quiet. North Usman Road is always loud with traffic and horns, but inside the shop, it’s a different kind of busy. We don’t have a mission statement or anything like that. We just open the doors every morning and try to help people find what they need for their weddings or festivals. It’s just how a family-run silk business operates in the heart of Chennai. It is constant work but we enjoy the routine.
