The office here at Surya Apts is actually quite small if you see it in person. Most of our day is spent handling phone calls and looking over the chemical batches that come in. It gets pretty warm in this part of Baliah Avenue, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front windows directly. We keep the fans running all day. Usually, there are about four or five of us sitting around the desks, trying to keep the paperwork organized so nothing gets lost. People think coatings is just about paint, but it's a lot of technical stuff that we have to keep track of on old computers. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding number 12, so one of us has to go down to the street and wave them in. It's a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a week or so. We usually take turns going out for tea near the corner when things slow down. The floor is covered in samples and some old charts that have been there for years. We aren't big on fancy decorations or anything like that. It's just a place where we come to get the work done and make sure the orders are shipped out to the right places. Sometimes the printer jams and we spend twenty minutes fixing it instead of doing the logs. It's just how things go here on a normal Tuesday.
