Rajendran Textiles

You’ll find Rajendran Textiles at 31/17 on Venkata Iyer Street in the Muthialpet area. It’s one of those narrow streets where you have to be careful when you’re driving. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the building shows its age a little bit, but it’s sturdy. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and shelves of textiles. We don't have any air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans and keeping the doors open. It can get a bit loud with the traffic outside, but we’re used to it by now. The staff here is mostly local people who have lived in Muthialpet forever. We don't really have a hierarchy or fancy job titles. Everyone just pitches in with whatever needs to be done, whether that’s answering the phone or hauling bags of stock. We don't spend any time on marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. We are just a local textile shop that serves the people who know us. Sometimes we sit out front on the steps during a slow afternoon just to watch the street. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just open the doors in the morning and do our best to get the orders right for the people who buy from us every day.
