Rajan Eye Hospital

Being inside Bharani Hospital on Arcot Road makes things interesting. We are at No 22, tucked away inside the larger building there in Saligramam. If you know Arcot Road, you know how the traffic can get, especially when the buses are flying by. We spend most of our time in the eye hospital section. It is a bit of a walk-in once you get through the main Bharani entrance. Our day starts early, usually before the heat really kicks in. We handle a lot of people who come in because they can’t see the signs on the road clearly anymore. There is a lot of paperwork to deal with, and we are always reorganizing the files. It is not a very quiet place because of where we are located, but we are used to the noise by now. We’ve got a small team, and we all take turns at the front desk or helping out with the eye exams. It’s pretty straightforward work. Some days are packed and we barely have time to grab a tea from the stall outside, while other days are a bit slower and we can catch up on cleaning the lenses. We’ve been at this Saligramam spot for quite some time, and it feels like home to us. It’s just a regular hospital setup, nothing flashy, just people coming in and out all day long. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby on Arcot Road too.
