Our building fits right in with the rest of the neighborhood. Inside, you can definitely tell what we do because the smell of oil and lubricants is everywhere. It is not a bad smell, just something you get used to after working here for a few days. We have barrels and containers stacked up in the storage area. Most of the work involves moving these around or getting them ready for delivery. It is a hands-on job for a lot of the staff. We have a small office section where the paperwork gets handled, but most of the action is on the floor. The street outside is usually busy with people and small trucks trying to navigate the turns. In the summer, it gets incredibly hot inside, so we keep the fans running all day long. We have been in Tondiarpet for a long time, and we know many of the other businesses nearby. It is a hard-working atmosphere without any frills. We don't spend money on big signs or bright lights. We just focus on getting the product out to where it needs to go. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult when we are loading, but we manage. It is just a regular local business doing its thing. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and everyone paid.
