Loyal Textile Mills Ltd.

This mill has been standing for a long time, and a few of us have been working at Loyal Textile Mills Ltd. for more years than I care to count. We are situated on First Main Rd, though the address is a bit of a pain since it is New No. 83 but some people still call it Old No. 41. It really confuses the guys coming in with deliveries. The whole place hums with the sound of the looms from the crack of dawn. There's usually lint floating in the air and the smell of raw cotton everywhere you turn. We spend the bulk of our time walking the floor to make sure the threads aren't getting tangled or snapping. It is never quiet in here. We've watched the neighborhood around First Main Rd change quite a lot over the years. The building itself is looking pretty old now, with some cracks in the concrete and paint that started peeling back in the nineties, but the machines still do what they are supposed to do. We don't bother with much office work. Most of our day is spent right there on the factory floor where the actual work happens. The heat can get pretty bad during the summer, but we have some big old fans that move the air around a little. It's just a steady grind that has been happening for a long time. We show up and do the work, and then we head home to our families when the shift ends.
