About Project Engineer – Metals & Minerals in Chennai
You can find me over at No. 1 Ambal Street in Ramana Nagar, which is part of Minjur in the Thiruvallur district. I work as a project engineer out of this small office. It’s a quiet corner of Tamil Nadu, which is nice because it lets me focus on the technical details. Most of my day is spent checking over plans and making sure the engineering specs are being followed on the ground. It’s not a very big operation here. I usually have my desk covered in notes and old tea cups. Being a project engineer means you have to deal with a lot of little problems before they become big ones. I spend some time at the computer but I’m often out seeing how things are actually being built. Ambal Street is easy enough to find if you know the area. The neighbors are mostly families and small shops. It doesn't feel like a big corporate environment at all. It’s just a place where I get the engineering work done. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet is slow, but we just work around it. That is just how life is here in Minjur. I’ve been doing this for a while now and I like the pace of things. It’s practical, hands-on work that keeps the projects moving. I try to stay organized but with so many things happening at once, it can be a bit of a challenge sometimes.
