Project Engg(Electrical)

We’re over here in Chennai working on the electrical engineering side of various projects. It’s a big city and there is always something going on. My day usually starts early to beat some of the heat. I spend a lot of time looking at circuit designs or visiting sites to see how the installation is going. It's not the kind of work where you stay clean all day. Sometimes I'm crawling under things or climbing up to check connections. Chennai is a busy place to do this kind of work because there's always new construction happening somewhere. I don't really have a fancy office with a view, just a spot where I can spread out my diagrams and drink my coffee. People here are pretty straightforward. We just want to get the job done right so there aren't any problems later. It’s a lot of responsibility making sure the electricity is handled safely, but it’s what I know how to do. I’ve lived in Chennai for a long time, so I know my way around the different neighborhoods where our projects are. The traffic can be a nightmare, but you just plan for it. I don't use big words to describe what I do. I just fix things and plan things so they don't break. It's honest work and it keeps me busy from Monday to Saturday. I usually wrap things up by looking over the next day's schedule before heading home for dinner.
