Pride Bags

Pride Bags is located on the first floor at No. 2 Kalappa Achari Street. It’s not right on the ground, so you have to look up a bit to see our sign and then come up the stairs. We have been in this spot for a while now. The shop is filled with all types of bags, from backpacks for the kids going to school to handbags and larger travel luggage. Kalappa Achari Street is a very narrow and busy place, mostly filled with other shops and traders. It’s always crowded with people moving goods, so it can be quite a task just to get through the street some days. I like being on the first floor because it’s a bit away from the immediate chaos of the road. I handle the buying and the selling myself. I spend a lot of time checking the quality of the zippers and the stitching on the bags we get. It’s a small operation and I don’t have a lot of help. The shop can get a bit hot in the afternoons, but I keep the fans going. I know many of the other shopkeepers on this street, and we all look out for each other. People come to us when they need something sturdy that will last a while for their travels or work. It’s not a big corporate store with fancy displays. It’s just a simple room full of bags that people actually need for their daily lives. We keep it straightforward and honest for everyone.
