Premier Diesel Spares

The shop is down on Goodshed Road in Mudaliyar Chattiram. It’s an area where people expect to get their hands dirty, and we are no different. We deal in diesel spares, so there is always a bit of grease on the counters and the smell of fuel in the air. The shelves are heavy with engine parts, injectors, and gaskets. It’s 82 Goodshed Road, right in the thick of the industrial side of things. We spend a lot of time identifying specific parts for old engines that people bring in. Sometimes they don’t even have a part number, so we have to compare it to what we have on the shelf by eye. It’s a lot of manual checking and cleaning up metal bits. We don't have a fancy waiting area; most people just stand around while we look for what they need. The floors are concrete and stained with oil from years of work. It’s a noisy place with the sound of trucks and hammers from the neighboring shops. We don't bother with fancy displays. If we have the part, it’s usually in a plain box or just wrapped in plastic. We open when the sun comes up and stay until the work is done. It’s honest, tiring work but it keeps the engines running in this part of town. We’ve seen all kinds of machinery come through here, from small generators to big truck engines. Every day brings something slightly different, even if it’s just another oily part to identify and sell.
