Vision Survey

Our office is over in Porur, specifically on 2nd Street in the Officer Colony. If you know the area near Arcot Road, you probably know where the Maurya Hotel is. We are right around there, not far from Vairam Hotel either. It’s a busy spot with lots of people coming and going because of the hotels. Vision Survey is where we spend most of our time when we aren't out in the field. Surveying is one of those jobs where you spend half the time looking at maps and the other half standing out in the sun with equipment. The office at number 29 is where we keep all the gear and try to make sense of the data we collect. It’s not a huge space, but it works for us. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when everyone is back from a site at the same time. We’ve got stacks of paper and tripods leaning against the walls. The traffic on Arcot Road can be a nightmare during rush hour, so we try to time our trips carefully. Usually, someone brings in snacks in the afternoon to keep the energy up. It’s a lot of walking and measuring, and sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate, but we get it done. Being near the hotels means there’s always somewhere to grab a quick lunch or coffee. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do, and we've gotten used to the noise and the constant movement outside.
