Om Durgaa Rocks/ Shelord Export

We are located at No. 26 Ramakrishna Nagar Annex in Porur. The name on the door says Om Durgaa Rocks or Shelord Export, depending on which part of the business we are talking about that day. We handle a lot of stone and rock exports, which is heavy and often messy work. The office is in a more residential-feeling part of Porur, so it’s a bit quieter than being right on the main road. We have a small yard area where we can see some of the materials before they get loaded up onto the trucks. Inside the office, it is mostly about the numbers and the shipping documents. We have some samples of the rocks we deal with sitting on the windowsills for people to look at. It’s dusty work sometimes, but we are quite used to it by now. We have a small team of people who have been with us for a long time. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with long meetings and presentations. We just talk about what needs to go out and who is going to handle the transport. The traffic in Porur can be a real nightmare, so we have to plan the truck movements very carefully. We spend a lot of time on the mobile phone checking with the quarry and the port. It’s a tough business but we’ve found our way in it over the years. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure the orders are correct.
