We have been here at No. 1/297 Avadi Road for quite a while now. Poonamallee gets really dusty with all the traffic passing by Seennerkupam, but we just keep the shutters half-down to keep the heat out. Most of the day is spent checking the drums and making sure the labels are on straight. It’s not fancy work at Maax Lubrication Pvt Ltd, but it keeps us busy. The floor usually has a few oil spots that never really come out no matter how much we scrub. We’ve got a small crew here, mostly locals who walk or take the bus. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the congestion on Avadi Road, and we have to stay back to unload everything. It’s a lot of lifting and moving stuff around the warehouse. When it rains, the roof makes a lot of noise, so we have to shout to hear each other. We drink a lot of tea from the stall around the corner just to keep going through the afternoon slump. People stop by asking for specific oils, and we spend time digging through the back to find the right container. It’s just how things go here. We don’t have a big fancy office, just a couple of desks and a lot of stock. It gets the job done and we know everyone in the neighborhood by now. We don't really bother with advertisements because most people just find us by driving past or hearing about us from the mechanics down the road.
