Our office is up on the third floor of Pandey Plaza, which is right on Pantheon Road in Egmore. It’s a busy part of Chennai, so there is always noise from the street coming up through the windows. Ponsaravana Chits Private Limited has been operating from this building for some time now. Getting up to the third floor keeps us active, though the stairs can be a bit much in the afternoon heat. Inside, it’s mostly just us handling the day-to-day tasks of running chit funds. People from all over Egmore and the surrounding neighborhoods come in to join a group or collect their winnings. We have a lot of regular members who have been with us for years. They usually stop by, have a quick chat about their families, and then take care of their business. We don't use any flashy signs or anything. The address at No. 117-4A is where we do all the math and keep the records straight. It’s a lot of manual work sometimes, checking the auctions and making sure the payouts are ready on time. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the desk gets cluttered with forms and pens. That’s just the way it is when you’re busy. Working in Egmore means we’re right in the middle of everything, which is handy for our members. We’re just local people helping other locals save a bit of money every month and keeping things running smoothly as we go through the year.
