10, Eldorado Building at 112, Nungambakkam High Road. It’s a well-known building in a busy part of the city. We do travel work here, mostly flights and papers for people going abroad. The office is on an upper floor. It’s got those old-style office carpets and a few travel posters on the walls that are a bit faded. The phones are usually ringing. Sometimes three at once. We sit at these wooden desks that have been here since the start. It gets a bit hectic when people are in a hurry for their tickets. We use a lot of paper, so there are stacks everywhere. Nungambakkam High Road is always jammed with cars and buses. You can hear the noise even with the windows shut. We have a small pantry where we make coffee. It’s not a big corporate setup. It’s just us trying to get the details right for everyone’s trips. Sometimes we stay late when the bookings are heavy. The elevator in the building is a bit slow, so we often take the stairs. It’s a regular job in a regular office. We’ve been doing this for years, and we’ve seen the travel business change a lot with the internet and all that. But we’re still here in the Eldorado Building, doing things our way. The air conditioner hums in the corner, trying its best to keep the heat out. We keep a large map of the world on the wall.
