Phonix Landscape Consultants operates out of No 47, Ponniyamman Koil Street in Kotturpuram. We are right opposite Kumaran Hardwares, which is actually quite handy when we need some quick supplies. Our work is a bit different from regular architects because we deal more with the outside spaces. We spend a lot of time thinking about plants, soil, and how water moves across a piece of land. The office is often a bit messy with samples of stone and different types of gravel scattered around. It’s a local business and we’ve been in Kotturpuram for quite a while now. We don't really do the whole polished sales pitch. We just sit down with people and look at their gardens or empty lots. It takes a lot of patience to wait for things to grow and we try to explain that to our clients. Sometimes we are out in the sun all day supervising the planting, and other days we are stuck inside doing the technical drawings for irrigation or lighting. It’s a good mix of being indoors and outdoors. We like the neighborhood here and the people are generally friendly. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking on a nursery or finishing up a plan for a new park. It’s just honest work.
