Phoenix Architects

Phoenix Architects is located at Shop No 13 in the Abc Trade Centre, which is part of the Devi Theatre Complex on Anna Salai. It’s an interesting place to work because of all the people coming and going for the movies. We are on the first floor, so it is a bit removed from the main noise of Mount Road, but you still feel the energy of the city. Our office is small and functional. We have our computers set up and plenty of space for large format drawings. Working inside a theatre complex means we have some odd neighbors, but it makes the day interesting. We spend a lot of time on Anna Salai visiting different sites or meeting with clients in various parts of the city. Back at the shop, we’re usually busy with calculations or trying to figure out the best way to use a tight space. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just draw buildings and try to make sure they won't fall down. It involves a lot of checking and re-checking. Sometimes we stay late when a project is moving fast, and you can hear the faint sound of a movie playing downstairs. It’s just the way we work and we’ve gotten used to it over the years.
