Phire Banking Academy

We are tucked away on Cenotaph 1st Street in Teynampet. The address can be a bit confusing because of the old and new numbering—it’s Old No 6 but New No 15—so we usually tell people to just look for the sign once they turn onto the street. Chennai heat is no joke, so we try to keep the rooms inside as comfortable as we can for the students. Phire Banking Academy isn't some big corporate college. It’s just a place where people come to learn the ropes of the banking world. We have classrooms that are pretty simple, with whiteboards and enough chairs for everyone. Most of us who work here have spent time in banks ourselves, so we know it’s not all easy. We don't promise anyone a miracle, we just provide the materials and some guidance on how to pass those exams. It’s a lot of studying and practice tests. You’ll often see groups of students hanging out near the entrance, talking about their scores or where they want to work. We like the vibe of Teynampet because it’s central but this particular street is a little quieter than the main roads. It gives the students a better chance to focus. We keep the tea kettle going most of the day. It’s just a plain, hardworking environment where the goal is to help folks get a decent job in a bank. No frills, just learning and plenty of practice.
