S B Garments

S B Garments is tucked away in Shop 5 of the Singapore Market, over at No. 138/1 Govindappa Naicken in Parrys. If you know Parrys, you know it’s crowded and loud all the time. Our shop is small, but we pack it full of whatever garments we are working on. There isn't much room to walk around once the new stock arrives. We spend most of the day talking to people who walk past or other shop owners in the market. It’s a tight space, and the lights are always on because it’s a bit dark inside the market building. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while. We know all the tea sellers and the delivery guys who navigate the narrow lanes. It’s a lot of hard work keeping track of everything in such a busy place. We don’t have a website or anything like that, we just deal with people face to face. Sometimes the heat in the market is tough, but we have a small fan that helps a bit. People come here because they know where we are. We don't do any big advertising. We just hang some of our stuff out front so people can see what we have. It’s a simple way to run things. Every night we pull down the shutter and hope for a good day tomorrow. That's just how life is in the Singapore Market.
