You can find us over on Thambu Chetty Street in Parrys, right on the first floor of No. 33. Being near the High Court means it's always busy outside. There is a lot of noise from the street and people are always rushing somewhere. We’ve been running Jai Vijay Shree Agencies from this spot for quite some time now. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, but we’re used to it. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and desks piled with ledgers. We deal with various agencies and distribution work. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking on shipments that are coming through the port or across the state. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of a racket, but you stop noticing it after an hour. We don’t do much in terms of decoration. We’re here to work, not to look at pretty pictures on the wall. The light in the afternoon is quite nice when it comes through the front windows. Most of the other shop owners nearby know us by name. We grab lunch from the local mess and get back to the paperwork. It’s a steady rhythm. People come up the stairs looking for specific items or to settle an account. We keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s a tough area to work in because of the crowd, but there’s a good energy to it.
