Hat Rubbers

Hat Rubbers is based on Thambu Chetty Street, at the spot that used to be number 188 but is now 292. If you know this street, you know it’s one of the busiest spots around, especially with all the hardware and industrial shops lined up one after another. We deal with all kinds of rubber products. The shop always has that specific smell of rubber, which you stop noticing after being here for ten minutes. It’s a very hands-on business. We spend time measuring out hoses, checking seals, and making sure the rolls of material are cut to the right lengths. It’s not a high-tech operation; it’s more about knowing the materials and what they can handle. The building is old, and we’ve been using Post Box 2046 for a long time now. We get a lot of walk-in customers who are looking for a very specific type of washer or belt. Sometimes we have to dig through the back to find the exact thing they need. It’s a bit cramped in here with all the stock, but that’s just how it is on Thambu Chetty Street. We don’t do any fancy talk or try to sell people things they don’t need. We just give them the rubber parts they came for and get back to work on the next order. It’s simple, steady work in a crowded part of town.
