Gees Kitchen

Gees Kitchen is tucked away at number 29 on Green Park Park Avenue 1st Street. It is in the Baby Nagar area of Velachery, which is a nice spot because it’s a bit removed from the heaviest traffic. We spend most of our time in the back where all the cooking happens. The kitchen is the heart of the whole place. It is usually hot and smells like whatever we are preparing that morning. We don’t have a big fancy dining room or anything. It is more about the food we make and the people who come to get it. We use regular pots and pans, the kind you’d see in any home, just a bit bigger. There is always a list of things to do, from chopping vegetables to cleaning up at the end of the shift. We like being in Velachery because the people around here are friendly. We see the same faces quite often. The staff here are just local people who know their way around a kitchen. We don’t go in for fancy menus or complicated descriptions. We just make what we know and try to do it right every time. Sometimes we run out of things early, and that’s just how it goes. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us very busy from early morning until we close the doors in the evening. We just keep cooking and hope people like it.
